Questions and Answers:
What are your qualifications and experience
as a therapist?
Good question! I have a master’s degree in social work and am licensed as a
Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New Jersey and a Certified Social Worker
in New York. I have been working in the field of human services since the late
1980’s and, at some point, I’ve worked with just about every age group and
clientele that exists! I started out as a counselor at a group home and have
held positions in as varied settings as foster care, inpatient hospitals, drug
and alcohol programs, community mental health centers, and outpatient mental
health services. I have worked with clients as young as 4 and as old as 74.
Do you specialize in anything?
While I am a general practitioner, which means that I am qualified and do treat
all different types of people and problems, I do have several sub specialties,
including lesbian/gay/bisexual/trans issues, spirituality, and addictions.
I work with individuals, ages 13 and up, couples, families, and groups.
Do you accept insurance?
If your insurance company offers out of network benefits, your sessions will
be covered, depending on the individual restrictions and limitations set
by your company (deductibles, co-pays, etc.) However, I believe that financial
concerns should not affect whether or not you get counseling, so I am very
accommodating in working out financial issues with my clients. If there
is no possible way we can work out a financial solution, I will refer you
to somewhere where you can get counseling you can afford.
Where is your office located?
I am located in Central New Jersey on the border of Middlesex and Somerset
counties, very close to New Brunswick, Somerset, Bound Brook, Hillsborough,
and the Plainfields, to name a few. My office is easily accessible from
Routes 1, 287, 130, 27, Easton Ave, and Amwell Road.New office opening in East Brunswick in Summer of 2005
How do I make an appointment?
Just give me a call! The office phone number is (732) 873-8738. If you’d like
to call just to chat a bit, and see if you’d feel comfortable coming in, that’s
fine too!
